3/24/10
I was rushing to class this morning and ended up being about 15 minutes late. As I was turning the corning to go down the hall I saw my professor coming around the opposite corner at the other end. We make it to the classroom entrance at the same time and she says "Perfect Timing!". I lucked out of getting a LATE on my attendance and was quite relieved.
Class goes well. My Professor spends most of the time explaining the next project. About 5 minutes before the class ends she remembers there is a show for which she needs FIVE pieces from our class. She reads off the names and I am one of them! We have to find a hard cardboard like surface to mount the drawings and bring them to her office which is in a part of the school I am not familiar with.
I freak out because I have to get to work in less than an hour and would be stuck there until 6 p.m. I tear the back off my drawing pad, trim and tape the artwork creating a makeshift matting for it. I rush through the school looking for her office. A security guard helps with directions and I end up bumping into her enroute.
She is speaking with someone I do not know but from the way she was speaking I could tell is someone of importantance. My professor was pleading for more gallery space, supplies etc.. I walk right up and am introduced. The professor grabs my prepared drawing which I had in my hands and showers praise on me backing her arguement. The Stranger is very impressed and smiles congratulating me.
I walk away with my Professor and she says "Mr ROSA! Again with the perfect timing" smiling. I smile back and tell her I hope I helped to win over this school official. She replies "I think you did."
Right place at the right time :)
